Classic Insurance Services sponsored driver wins at Round 4 of British GT Championship
Kingfisher Insurance’s Private Client insurance brand; Classic Insurance Services sponsored driver James Cottingham and co-driver Jonny Adam took the victory in Round 4 of the 2023 British GT Championship.
Featuring Classic Insurance Services, the boldly liveried #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 jointly led the standings after Rounds 1 and 2 at Oulton Park, but needed a big weekend at Donington Park after scoring just 1.5 points in Round 3 at Silverstone.
As specialists in Private Client Insurance, many clients participate in racing – whether it’s historic motorsport or GT racing and as a long-term partner of DK Engineering, Classic Insurance Services are delighted to be sponsoring James Cottingham. The success so far not only showcases the joint passion and drive to perform to at the highest level but furthers Classic Insurance Services’ commitment to celebrating excellence in the automotive industry.
Starting the race alongside the pole sitter Shaun Balfe, James initially dropped behind Andrew Howard but found his rhythm ahead of Lucky Khera and Darren Leung. James overtook as Balfe’s initial pace dropped, with fellow 2 Seas’ Motorsport teammate also overtaking prior to the pitstops taking place.
The pitstops, taking place at reduced speed due to a crash, meant that the #4 car inherited the lead taking eventual victory and the other 2 Seas’ Motorsport car #1 securing third place.
Carole Pearson, Head of Classic Insurance services, commented:
“An amazing result and congratulations to both James and Jonny for another excellent race in their 2023 British GT campaign. We’re looking forward to the next race at Snetterton.”
Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2023 British GT Championship take place on 17th – 18th June at Snetterton Circuit, Norfolk.
